We can hardly contain our excitement at the iHeartRadio offices - we learned today that we’re one of the 9th Annual Shorty Awards winners! Our digital and events teams are especially excited because the Shorty Awards recognize the most influential, popular, and culturally relevant brands and influencers across social media, and for the second year in a row we won the Shorty Award for Best In Live Events for the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival! We also won the category’s fan-voted Audience Honor for the festival.
Now in its 6th year and already one of the biggest music events of the year, the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival had more than 30 acts on two stages across two days packed with music that brought the iHeartRadio app to life. With performances by the biggest artists, the show generated a record-breaking 10 billion social media impressions! Our fans experienced the festival across 11 different social platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Vine, Tumblr, YouNow, Periscope, Smule!, Musical.ly and Giphy.
