#NewMusicTuesday: Years & Years, “Palo Santo”

Palo Santo, the highly anticipated second album from British synth-pop band Years & Years, finally dropped earlier this month, and it’s the perfect blend of robotic, futuristic sound and 90s-era pop. While frontman Olly Alexander says Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys certainly inspired songs like “Sanctify,” the group also brought their own unique synth energy to every track on the record.

Much of the album is devoted to reflecting on past relationships, while imagining an almost-dystopian society where robots reign. Intrigued? You should be!

New songs including “Hypnotized,” “Rendezvous” and “Howl,” and previously released singles “Karma,” “All For You,” and “If You’re Over Me,” are like nothing you’ve heard before—listen to all of Palo Santo now on iHeartRadio and watch the clip below to hear the band share the story behind every song.
