Tune into the special “Pride Podcasts” playlist with the latest episodes from shows across the network.
During Pride, we also honor and celebrate the activists in the community who have helped usher change. Few figures stand taller in the community than Marsha P. Johnson, an icon and one of the mothers of the fight for trans rights whose life is explored in the new season of “Afterlives: Marsha P. Johnson.” Legend says she threw the first brick at the Stonewall riots, setting off the modern movement for queer rights. Immortalized by Warhol and known as “The Saint of Christopher Street,” Marsha was also unhoused, surviving through sex work, navigating violence and resisting with joy. Host Raquel Willis brings Marsha’s story to life through rare archival interviews and intimate conversations with queer elders, friends and historians. More than 30 years after her still-unsolved death in the Hudson River, Marsha’s voice resounds louder than ever.
Other new shows from the Outspoken Network also include “HIGHKEY! With Yvie, Ben, and Ryan,” “Outlaws with TS Madison,” “Silver Linings with The Old Gays” and many more. Check out the full Outspoken Network lineup here.
