Artist of the Week: Florence + The Machine
Florence + The Machine fans, the wait is finally over! The band’s new album, High as Hope, drops today and every bit of it was worth the wait. Brimming with beautiful lyrics and unique melodies, High as Hope is deeply personal.
“Hunger,” a single from the new album, documents lead singer Florence Welch’s battle with an eating disorder—something she found incredibly difficult to talk about, until she released her emotions into a the song. The rest of the album, including singles “Sky Full of Song” and “Big God,” is equally compelling, featuring the same passionate vocals and creative sound that Florence + The Machine followers know and love.
The past few months have been rough for the group, following the departure of drummer Christopher Hayden, but the band is back at it, performing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert just days before the debut of their new album and preparing for a North American tour kicking off in August.
We don’t know about you, but we have this new record playing on loop! Check it out and keep listening to Florence + The Machine on iHeartRadio!
