#NewMusicTuesday: Mansionair, “Violet City”

A trio from Sydney, Australia, the members of Mansionair ran into each other at a music festival and just knew they had to start making music together! A mix of indie pop and electronic sounds, their music is inspired by the artistic influences of The XX and The National as well as their own unique experiences as a band. The idea for their latest single, “Violet City,” for example, came from a trip they took to Los Angeles.

From a small town in Sydney, the group was not used to the fast-paced, diverse and vibrant culture of a city like Los Angeles, lit brightly with lights and always moving. “Violet City” captures the feeling of coming to a new place and being fascinated by everything it has to offer, and we can’t get enough of this track!

After spending years writing and perfecting new music, Mansionair is finally ready to tour. The band is staying in the US for a while and will be playing at venues throughout the country. Check out our interview with the up-and-coming group below, and get to know their music on iHeartRadio!
