Artist of the Week:Camila Cabello

Grammy Award-nominated artist and pop sensation Camila Cabello is back today with not just one but two new singles, “Shameless” and “Liar.” Both tracks were released ahead of her highly-anticipated second album, Romance. They are absolute bangers and now we’re all the more excited for Camila’s upcoming record!

In “Shameless,” the songstress sings about an all-consuming love that’s as relentless as a burning fire. The new music video for the single is fiery, too: it begins with Cabello in a church confessional booth before heating up into some intricate choreography and actual bursts of fire.

“Right now I’m shameless, screaming my lungs out for you,” sings Cabello in the “Shameless” chorus. “Not afraid to face it. I need you more than I wanted to.”

“Liar” is also enchanting. In this second single, Cabello sings about temptation and not being able to resist a new fling despite her hesitancy and emotional barriers.

“I said I won’t lose control, I don’t want it. I said I won’t get too close, but I can’t stop it,” she sings. “Oh no, there you go making me a liar.”

In a press release for the upcoming album, Cabello revealed the inspiration behind Romance and its first two singles: “These songs are basically the story of my life the past couple years and the stories I’ve accumulated. I knew for a long time I wanted my album to be called Romance because these stories are about falling in love.”
