iHeartRadio and TenderfootTV Announces Its Third Installment of the Hit True Crime Podcast, “Monster: D.C. Sniper”

Back in the fall of 2002, America was still struggling to recover from the terror attacks of 9/11, the tragic events that had occurred just one year prior. Washington D.C. was a prime target for terrorism, with 9/11’s attack on the Pentagon as well as a series of Anthrax attacks that left the region in a state of paranoia and anxiety.

In October 2002, terror once again struck the nation’s capital. One afternoon, a man was shot and killed while leaving a grocery store. The next day, five more people were shot and killed nearby all while going about their everyday lives: one was shot while pumping gas and another was killed while mowing their lawn. All of the affected individuals had no relation to one another, which made things even weirder. It seemed as though all of these attacks were utterly random and (of course) incredibly sadistic.

Listeners will follow along as host and journalist Tony Harris, who was a TV news anchor in Baltimore at the time of the sniper attacks, brings listeners to the front lines of this terrifying time, as he walks us through the D.C. Sniper’s three week-long killing spree all the way through its aftermath today. In an effort to make sense of all the unanswered questions around the shootings, Harris speaks with law enforcement officers, journalists and witnesses who survived the ordeal, chronicling their stories during that time.

When this nightmare finally ended, the identity of the Sniper shocked nearly everyone. The story revealed, which is considerably more complicated than expected, was one of betrayal, neglect and family. Now, the Supreme Court is hearing the case. And the results will almost certainly have far reaching consequences.
