Artist of the Week: David Guetta

Our artist of the week David Guetta may be the grandfather of EDM, but he actually started out playing hip hop, funk, disco and soul. Guetta began mixing and spinning beats when he was just 12 years old, with his very first beat mash paying homage to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” - and the French DJ and producer has come a long way since then!

His 2009 album One Love skyrocketed him to fame and paved the way for his follow-up album, Nothing but the Beat, which featured hits like “Where Them Girls At” and “Titanium,” and his latest album, Listen. Guetta has worked with today’s top artists, including Sia, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Rihanna. Just recently, he teamed up with Afrojack, Charli XCX and French Montana on the song “Dirty Sexy Money.” And in December, Guetta partnered with Martin Garrix on “So Far Away,” finally giving fans the long-awaited collaboration between the two DJs.

Guetta’s in high demand, performing all over the world, including the iHeartRadio Music Festival! He stopped by to chat with us about his early days on the music scene - check it out and keep listening to his hits on iHeartRadio!
