Check Out “News O’Clock,” A New Podcast From iHeartMedia and BuzzFeed For The Daily News and Pop Culture Updates You Need!
We’re living through a crazy time in history—and that’s putting it lightly. And to keep up with all of this insanity, we need the news. BuzzFeed and iHeartMedia have teamed up to bring listeners a brand new original podcast, “News O’Clock.” In this show, you’ll get the good, the bad, and the “wait, what???” of what’s been happening online and in real life each day.
Each episode is a 20-minute daily news digest that breaks down headlines on politics, culture and entertainment. Because the news can be overwhelming right now, the show aims to make it as digestible as possible with fun segments like “The List,” a BuzzFeed-style round-up of the day, and “Say More,” an energetic and usually humorous interview interlude. From the coronavirus outbreak and 2020 election to the latest celebrity gaffes and memes blowing up the internet, “News O’Clock” will help listeners stay connected with the world while we’re apart.
“News O’Clock” is co-produced and hosted by Hayes Brown. Most recently, Brown was covering President Trump’s impeachment trial on the daily podcast, “Impeachment Today.” Before that he was an editor and writer for the BuzzFeed News World Desk, working with its correspondents to cover breaking news around the globe. He also hosts BuzzFeed’s nostalgia show “That Literally Happened” on Facebook Watch. Brown’s co-producer and host is Casey Rackham, a TV and film senior editor for BuzzFeed. For the past seven years she’s been writing and editing everything about pop culture for various outlets. She has a background in comedy and holds a BA in Journalism from Boston University.
Check out the first episode of “News O’Clock” on Monday, April 20th! And come back every weekday for a new 20-minute episode. Stay safe everyone!
