J Balvin Futurum tune in alert

Meta and iHeartRadio Host ‘J Balvin Futurum: A VR Concert Experience’ in Meta Horizon Worlds

Whether you’ve been following him since “6 AM” or are a more recent convert thanks to his chart-topping hits and crossover collaborations, J Balvin has broken significant barriers to bring reggaeton to the global stage. And soon, you’ll be able to experience his music like never before.

iHeart is partnering with Meta to bring the Colombian singer-songwriter and six-time Latin Grammy-winner into Meta Horizon Worlds* with "J Balvin Futurum: A VR Concert Experience." The event premieres at 9 pm ET/6:00 pm PT on February 17, and fans can subscribe now to get reminder notifications on the day of the event.

“I’m always looking for new and innovative ways to expand access to art, and the VR space is one with limitless opportunity,” says Balvin. “The whole show has a futuristic vibe including some crazy robotics twice my size. It will be one of my wildest shows ever, and I’m grateful to Meta and iHeart for the unique collaboration and the platform to explore my passion for technology in a way that allows my fans to experience my music together in a different way.”

Created specifically for VR, the 180-degree concert experience will take viewers on a career retrospective of some of Balvin’s greatest hits. One of the top-selling Latin performers in the world, Balvin will also look to the future with an over-the-top visual spectacle. Strapped into a 15-foot robotic arm that moves to the beat of the music, Balvin performs on a custom-built stage that revolves in conjunction with a fully moving light grid. Add to that choreography from seven backup dancers that was crafted specifically to be shot in VR and you have a recipe for an out-of-this-world event. The special features 17 of Balvin’s hit songs, each performed with a unique staging, including “La Canción,” “I Like It,” “No Me Conoce,” “Mi Gente” and more.

Produced by Media.Monks and iHeartRadio, "J Balvin Futurum" will also be available on Meta Quest TV, and those without a headset can catch the show via Messenger’s Watch Together and on iHeartRadio’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The event is the marquee show in the iHeartRadio Concert Series in VR. Previous iHeartRadio VR performances include John Legend, Carrie Underwood, Kim Petras and more.

Mark your calendars—"J Balvin Futurum: A VR Concert Experience" kicks off at 6:00 pm PT on February 17.
