#NewMusicTuesday: Kelly Clarkson, Meaning of Life
Our favorite “Miss Independent” is all grown up in her latest album, The Meaning of Life! Kelly Clarkson has come a long way from her American Idol days and we love her new sassy, soulful sound.
The album’s hit single, “Love So Soft,” has a bold R&B feel, and though the singer says the record pushed her vocally, we see nothing but confidence in the music video. The song — and the rest of the album — is a reflection of a more mature, experienced artist who has finally found her identity. You can bet we’ll never stop belting out “Since U Been Gone” at the top of our lungs, but we’re pumped about these grown-up jams too!
According to Clarkson, it was perfect timing for the album, and we couldn’t agree more! With her post-Idol RCA Records contract expired, the singer was able to choose a new label and hand-pick collaborators for the first time in her career. Plus, the proud mama says she’s at a point where things are “awesome” in her personal life. We’re thrilled for you, Kelly!
The Meaning of Life debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last week, and we haven’t stopped listening to it since! Watch our exclusive interview with Kelly Clarkson below, and listen to some of her oldies on iHeartRadio!
