#NewMusicTuesday: Papa Roach, “My Medication”
Papa Roach’s eighth studio album, Crooked Teeth, made a splash last year, earning the group two iHeartRadio Music Award nominations—one for best rock artist of the year, and another for best rock song of the year for the song “Help.” But that’s not all—the group just dropped a video for “My Medication,” another single from their hit album, and it’s out there! The foursome is definitely riding a creative streak and pushing boundaries, and we’re excited to see what’s next for the rockers.
Most of the footage for the provocative new “My Medication” video was shot in Berlin, and explores some touchy taboos—think Fifty Shades of Grey, but in a music video! Edginess is a big part of rock music across the board, and Papa Roach isn’t afraid to push the envelope as far as possible. The band experiments not only with subject matter, but also sound—Papa Roach’s production duo Colin Brittain and Nick Furlong, aka RAS, have injected a healthy dose of boldness into “My Medication,” and the song doesn’t sound like anything that’s come before it.
Check out the song on iHeartRadio and tune into the iHeartRadio Music Awards at 8pm ET on March 11 to see if Papa Roach takes home an award! Want to cook up something special for awards night?
