Celebrate Black History Month With iHeartRadio!

Today is the first day of Black History Month and so begins our celebration of the incredible achievements of Black Americans throughout history — including their continued and unmatched contributions to the world of music. Join us in paying tribute to their talent and courage and get to know the music of these timeless performers with iHeartRadio’s custom playlists, podcasts and radio stations.

From a playlist dedicated to Queen of Jazz Ella Fitzgerald, to one with hits from rock and roll pioneer Chuck Berry, iHeartRadio has hand-picked tracks from some of history’s greatest musicians — including B.B. King, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles and more. We’ve even got custom playlists from contemporary Black musicians like “Curated by: 21 Savage” and “Curated by: Jon Batiste.”

And let’s hear it for the female Black artists who paved the way for modern music: Explore our playlists for pop and rap icons like Tina Turner, Janet Jackson and Aretha Franklin and then dive into the music of the contemporary artists they inspired like Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Lauryn Hill and many others!

Be sure to check out iHeartRadio’s custom radio stations—we’ve curated stations for Urban Jazz & Blues, Motown Sounds, Classic Funk and even a 24/7 Urban Comedy Station. Or, just head over to our Black History Month radio station to hear all of the music worth celebrating this month.

There are also some excellent and culturally relevant podcasts to listen to this month, including “Historically Black,” “Still Processing” and fan favorite, “Code Switch.” If you’ve ever found yourself in a conversation about race and identity where you just get stuck, “Code Switch” is here to help. Hosted by journalists of color, this podcast produces informative, helpful, fun and sometimes uncomfortable conversations about race relations in the U.S. today.

Start celebrating the brave and accomplished lives of Black Americans and listen to these playlists, radio stations and podcasts!
