Artist of the Week: Sam Hunt

This past week, country superstar Sam Hunt announced the upcoming release of his highly anticipated sophomore album: It’s called Southside, and it’s set to arrive on April 3rd.

But don’t fret — fans won’t have to wait that long for new music. Last night, the “Body Like a Back Road” singer released a new single, titled “Hard to Forget.” This is the first song off of Southside, and fans are already in love with the new sound.

Yesterday, Hunt posted the artwork and an audio clip from “Hard to Forget” to his Instagram. According to this teaser, Hunt’s new song samples Webb Pierce’s No. 1 1953 hit, “There Stands the Glass.” Pretty retro, right? Even if you believed Sam Hunt when he said he was planning to bring a more ‘traditional’ country sound to his music, you probably wouldn’t have predicted the 1950s hit he chose to sample.

Hunt is slated to hit the road following his new album’s April release. He’ll be kicking off the 2020 Southside summer tour on May 28th in Charlotte, North Carolina. What’s more, he’s going to perform at the 2020 iHeartCountry Festival in May. Interested? You can grab your tickets today! Then get ready for the show by heading over to iHeartRadio and streaming Hunt’s new single, “Hard to Forget.”
