Hulu and iHeart Are Joining Forces to Release a Companion Podcast for the New Streaming Series “Little Fires Everywhere”
Hulu and iHeart are joining forces to release an iHeart Original companion podcast for the streaming network’s highly anticipated limited series Little Fires Everywhere. The show is an adaptation of Celeste Ng’s popular 2017 novel by the same name and stars—and was executive produced by—Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington. The companion podcast, titled “Little Fires Everywhere: The Official Podcast,” is hosted by comedian and TV writer Jamie Loftus along with series showrunner Liz Tigelaar.
The show and novel take place in Shaker Heights, a wealthy suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. It’s here that Witherspoon’s character, the preppy and tightly wound Elena Richardson, meets Washington’s character, Mia Warren, an enigmatic artist and single mother who just moved into town. When Elena’s friends attempt to adopt a Chinese-American baby, a custody battle erupts and divides the town—with Mia and Elena on opposing sides. Suspicious of Mia and her motives, Elena attempts to uncover the secrets of Mia’s past and develops an obsession with unexpected and devastating costs.
After each new episode of the streaming show, fans will be able to tune into “Little Fires Everywhere: The Official Podcast” to learn more about the intricate details that went into the making of the series. Loftus and Tigelaar will discuss everything from episode themes and production design to how they brought Ng’s novel—and the real Ohio suburb that it’s set in—to life. The podcast will also feature conversations with the show’s director, Lynn Sheldon, author Celeste Ng, the cast as well as some of its writers and music supervisors.
Check out the podcast’s trailer today on iHeartRadio and check back in on March 19th—tomorrow after the first episode airs on Hulu—to hear the podcast’s first full episode!
