iHeartRadio Celebrates Pride Month!

June marks the beginning of Pride Month! This month is a time when millions gather together in an effort to spread knowledge, understanding and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community nationwide. iHeartRadio is proud to support these communities not just this month but all year round and we take pride in sharing that celebration with our listeners every day.

Are you looking for a way to celebrate Pride Month? iHeartRadio has a couple options for you.

Let your pride flags fly and bop around to PRIDE Radio, the station specifically geared toward the LGBTQ+ community! It’s got both news and music, so listeners can tune in to hear the hottest hits and remixes while also catching up on the latest news. PRIDE Radio has become so popular as a digital station that we’re playing it in radio stations across the country. From Washington, D.C. to San Francisco, you can have some fun with iHeart’s PRIDE Radio.

Hit stations across the country are also participating in local Pride celebrations with on-air contests, on-site activations, live remote broadcasts and much more.

If you’re in the Chicago area on June 16th check out the “AT&T Turn Up The Love” ticket drop in Chicago’s Boystown Neighborhood for a chance to win tickets to a private performance from Lizzo on June 20th!

New York City is throwing a series of blow-out Pride celebrations too! iHeartRadio and PRIDE Radio are partnering with WorldPride to bring an epic slate of legendary LGBTQIA+ entertainers that have long been allies to the community. There will be sponsored events and performances throughout the month featuring artists like Grace Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Whoopi Goldberg, Chaka Khan, Ciara, Teyana Taylor and Kim Petras.

In Minneapolis, the local hit radio station 101.3 KDWB is teaming up with iHeartRadio at a booth in the city’s Pride festival on June 22nd and 23rd and will also appear in the local Pride parade and Rainbow Run 5K! Check it out!

There’s a Pride party happening in Philadelphia too! iHeartRadio will be appearing in Philadelphia’s Pride Parade with Mutha Knows, a local LGBTQ icon and host on the local Power 99 station’s “Rise n Grind Morning Show” and Steve Krainin, an affiliate iHeartRadio producer for Philadelphia’s Elvis Duran Show.

iHeartRadio is also celebrating with the Washington, D.C. markets. Local radio station Hot 99.5 and iHeart’s Pride Radio are the official exclusive radio partners for D.C.’s Capital Pride celebration. Together they put on the biggest Pride celebration in the city, The Capital Pride Concert! This year the headline entertainment included Marshmello, Zara Larsson, Todrick Hall, Calum Scott and Nina West from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Listeners got to celebrate all of the love at the city’s best Pride party!

iHeartRadio doesn’t just have the Pride parties you’ll need, we have the podcasts too! There are tons of queer content creators making fun podcasts about relatable, inspiring and educational topics in the LGBTQ+ community. One of our favorites is “HIM,” a weekly podcast with four gay African American hosts that discusses love, life and their experiences in the gay community. There’s “Outward: Slate's LGBTQ Podcast,” too. This one is a little more educational and delivers a queer-centric monthly salon where hosts and guests discuss queer culture and politics. Or, if you’re looking to laugh and learn, check out “Homophilia.” Hosted by Dave Holmes and Matt McConkey, this queer comedy podcast talks sex, dating and pop culture obsessions with celebrity guests like Lance Bass and Blake Mitchell. iHeartRadio just launched a Pride category for its Podcast directory, so you can easily find all the LGBTQ+ podcasts you need! Happy streaming!

And of course it wouldn’t be a proper Pride celebration without some fun, pop bangers to bop along to! iHeartRadio also launched Pride categories for its radio and playlist directories that are filled with music from artists beloved by the gay community. We’ve also included a bunch of curated playlists to check out from artists like Meghan Trainor, Calum Scott, Sara Bareilles, FLETCHER, Asiahn, Melissa Etheridge, Raja Kumari and more! Happy Pride everyone!
