Dani Shapiro’s New Daily Podcast “The Way We Live Now” Will Keep You Company While Practicing Social Distancing

To slow the spread of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’re isolating ourselves from the world around us. For most, this has been a difficult change: We can’t gather or share meals with other people, and we can’t hold our loved ones close. We’re longing for connection. And whether we’re alone or with our families, our routines have been temporarily upended.

Dani Shapiro, a beloved author and host of the popular iHeartRadio podcast “Family Secrets,” is back with a new show to help her listeners navigate these unprecedented and challenging times. Titled “The Way We Live Now,” this podcast will air new episodes daily and include searching, intimate conversations about how life has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shapiro will be joined by an assortment of guests from every walk of life and corner of the globe to discuss the question: “How do we live when we’re all isolated in our own homes?”

In “The Way We Live Now,” listeners will hear from a rich tapestry of voices that can act as a comfort and source of connection during this isolating experience. In each of its 15-minute episodes, Shapiro talks to a nurse in New York City, a senator, a teacher, a movie star, a chef with a small restaurant who cooks take-out each day, a college student who won’t wear a cap and gown, a high school student stuck at home with her parents, a patient undergoing cancer treatment, a postmistress, a university president, a rabbi, a minister, a yoga teacher, a meditation expert and so many more.

A little more on Dani Shapiro: She is a best-selling author who has written several books, including “Hourglass,” “Still Writing,” “Devotion” and “Slow Motion.” Her most recent memoir, “Inheritance,” inspired the podcast and was written after a DNA test revealed that Shapiro’s father was not her biological one. “Inheritance” chronicles Dani’s journey to unlock the hidden story of her own identity as she tries to answer a seemingly fundamental question: What makes us who we are?
