#NewMusicTuesday: Cheat Codes, “No Promises”
The EDM-influenced Cheat Codes formed in 2014, and their career has taken off at lightning speed!
In 2015, the group released a debut single titled "Visions," which reached No. 1 on the Hype Machine chart. It was followed by the single "Adventure," which garnered over 15 million views on YouTube, and led to their tour with The Chainsmokers! In June 2016, they released "Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)" with Dante Klein, which samples Kevin Lyttle's song "Turn Me On"— the song has since seen over 100 million streams.
Recently, Cheat Codes debuted a new single, “No Promises,” featuring none other than Demi Lovato. Our team grabbed an exclusive interview with the group to coincide with the single release — and guess what — they’re hinting that, yes, Shaquille O’Neal could be in the upcoming music video. We’ll just have to wait and see, so in the meantime, check out the interview below:
videoBelieve it or not, the group’s name was actually inspired by a bandmate’s brother who claimed he had found the ‘cheat code’ to getting anything he wanted in life. To the band, the real cheat code to life is loving what you do and they hope to convey that energy through music — and we couldn’t agree more. We’re so excited to listen to all of the best Cheat Codes tunes with you, right here, on iHeartRadio!
