In 2016, the then 12-year-old Grace VanderWaal won America’s Got Talent. Now, two years later, the uber-talented singer/songwriter still has our hearts!

Fresh off her tour with Imagine Dragons, VanderWaal is already itching to get back on the road. In the video below, VanderWaal says she was particularly pleased about her Chicago show, where the audience showed up with stellar energy for her opening set.

For VanderWaal, it has always been about the fans. From her earliest YouTube videos and journey on America’s Got Talent to her debut album, Just the Beginning, VanderWaal finds herself growing up alongside her listeners. This gives her the comfort to grow and evolve as an artist and human.

Growing up is the focus of VanderWaal’s new signal, “Stray.” Having just returned to school after a long break to pursue her musical career, VanderWaal reflects on how her personality has changed in her time outside of a traditional classroom. VanderWaal also gushes about the music video for “Stray,” which turned out just as she imagined—simple and beautiful. VanderWaal promises there is much more music to come, and we can’t wait!
