#NewMusicTuesday: Castro

Fresh off the release of their latest hits, “Automatic” and “Diamond Dreams,” Castro is a pop/folk family band from Dallas, TX with some serious musical chops. You might recognize a few of these Dallas natives from their American Idol days, but make no mistake, this sibling trio has a distinct sound and is the perfect blend of all three musicians.

With Jackie, who has been singing since age five, leading up vocals and Jason and Michael also lending their talents to the guitar and sometimes even the ukulele, Castro achieves seriously smooth harmonies — likely from years of impromptu family jam sessions. These are the kind of tunes you hum to yourself hours after you’ve hit repeat one too many times and it’s feel good music you can’t help but smile about. Mark your calendars because their upcoming Diamond Dreams EP is available September 2nd!
