#NewMusicTuesday: Goldroom
Josh Legg, better known as Goldroom, has been cranking out remixes, solo EPs, and shows consistently since he began producing music under the moniker Goldroom back in 2011. In fact, you probably remember “Embrace” or “Fifteen” as defining moments of summers’ past.
His remix of the Chvrches original “Leave a Trace” last year left us all not only wanting more, but also hoping for a full blown album of all-Goldroom originals. And just last month, Goldroom did exactly that. Dropping West of the West on September 23rd, Josh Legg kicked off his North American tour, co-headlining with Autograf.
West of the West is peak Goldroom—peppy tunes that recall a driving-with-the-top-down experience, best served with a side of crisp, ocean-breeze. Tracks like “Retrograde” and “Silhouette” are nostalgic minus the melancholy, and make the possibility of a spontaneous dance party ever the more real.
Check out the below for our exclusive chat with Goldroom – talking about the evolution of his album and the inspiration for his music. And afterwards, be sure to head over to iHeartRadio to listen to West of the West in full!
