#NewMusicTuesday: Netta, “Toy”

Eurovision Song Contest 2018 winner Netta is a force to be reckoned with, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for this talented artist! Netta captured the world’s attention with her hit song, “Toy,” which she says was inspired by the #MeToo Movement. Creatively mixed with Netta’s unique sound treatment, the song is about respect, and urges men to treat women with dignity, rather than as objects to be played with and discarded.

Representing Israel in the Eurovision competition, Netta actually grew up in Nigeria until her family moved when she was seven years old. The performer is shaped by her past and excited by the possibilities of her future as she continues to make more music featuring her beatboxing, chicken-dancing and cricket-chirping skills.

Netta has recently signed a record deal with S-Curve/BMG, so it’s only a matter of time before new music drops. Until then, check out her remix of Camila Cabello’s “Havana,” Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” and other songs on our segment, the iHeartRadio Party Wheel below!
